Pump Jacks end two-game skid, beat McKinney, 5-3

Home games through Tuesday

With the East Texas Pump Jacks coming home for a few games, a win to ignite a spark was just what they needed, and just what they got on Friday night.

The Pump Jacks, finishing up a six-game road trip in McKinney, beat the Marshals 5-3 in 10 innings on Friday, getting two runs in the top of the 10th for the win.

The East Texas franchise, playing in its first season of the Texas Collegiate League, is now 16-18, and broke a two-game losing streak with the victory. ET went 4-2 on the road trip.

At press time Saturday afternoon, the Pump Jacks were to host Coppell on Saturday night, then again today at 5:05 p.m. at Driller Park. They'll also be home on Tuesday and Wednesday, both at 7:05 p.m., against Brazos Valley.

McKinney, leading the TCL with a 20-13 record, trailed 2-0 early, but took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth. The 'Jacks tied it up in the sixth inning, then went ahead for good in the bottom of the 10th. St. Edwards University sophomore Dexter Moreno scored the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly, and then J.D. Dunn, a sophomore at St. Louis University, scored on a wild pitch.

Other hitters in the game were Garrett Smith and Paige Hodges, who each had two hits, and Adam De La Garza, who had 2 RBI. The Pump Jacks' five runs were scored by five different players. ET pitcher Aaron Wilkerson, a freshman at Panola College, got the win on the mound, keeping the Marshals off the bases in the bottom of the inning and wrapping up the victory for the Pump Jacks.

The 'Jacks host another family night today: four grandstand tickets for $12, with the option of adding a family-pack of meals - including hot dogs, soft drinks, and chips for four - for an additional $13.

Wednesday night, wear your 'Jacks gear and get a grandstand seat for half price.
