It was all red, white and blue at the Kilgore Senior Citizens

The Kilgore Senior Citizens met Wednesday, July 9, in the Lions Building at 307 Rusk Street. Ray Drost led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and Roy Tucker gave the opening prayer.

Treva Wilcox presented a program, singing such spiritual songs as, "Everybody Will Be Happy Over There," "The Old Rugged Cross," "Standing On The Promises," and others. Treva is the daughter-in-law of Darlene Wilcox. Her latest album is titled, "Moments." We all enjoyed having Treva Wilcox back with us today.

They had three birthdays: Shari Butler, Margie Charping and Paul Spear. Treva led us in singing "Happy Birthday" to them. Four visitors were with us: Jo Killyer, Diane Williams, Loretta Craver and Treva Wilcox. They joined forty members to make forty-four to enjoy the Annual Fourth of July Hamburger Luncheon.

President Betty announced Flo Francis has broken her arm, but is feeling better. Lois Rogers is also better and has taken two steps. Mildred Grimes is not well and Kildred Kersh is in the hospital. Please send cards to these folks.

The Secretary's report was read and approved. The Treasurer's report was also read and approved. The Sunshine Lady gave her report: In addition to Flo Francis breaking her arm, Don Hale has had back surgery. She sent a card to both of them.

Joyce Riddles announced an ice maker has been brought in.

Amy Sorrell and Mickey Heil won the door prize.

Ray Drost read an appropriate poem written by Johnny Cash, "Ragged Old Flag," and Joyce Riddles shared a story entitled, "Keep Your Fork." Red Fleming announced that

Rev. Harry Lagrone will be holding church services every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., and also on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. here in the Lions Building. He encouraged anyone who does not have a church home to come.

President Betty dismissed us after prayer at 1:15.
