Groups will provide free school supplies Kilgore's social service agencies are uniting again to provide school supplies for lowincome Kilgore-area families. Helping Hands, Kilgore Crisis Center, Presbyterian Children's Homes and Services and Kilgore Together are coordinating the efforts. The agencies are seeking donations of school supplies. Donations may be dropped off at Helping Hands, 411 E. Sabine St., Kilgore Crisis Center, 905 Broadway, Kilgore Together, 401 E. Main or Presbyterian Children's Homes and Services (First Presbyterian Church), 815 E. Main. Volunteers are also needed to sort, bag and help distribute supplies. Supplies will be provided for students in Pre-Kindergarten through high school. They will be distributed at St. Luke's Methodist Church on Tuesday, August 12 from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Wednesday, August 13, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. or until supplies run out. Families need to bring the following: - Proof of school enrollment for each child such as report card, test scores, or anything to show the child is enrolled in school; - Proof of income -- a pay stub, letter stating benefits or letter from employer; - Picture identification of the parent. Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students do not need proof of enrollment.
