McKinney edges 'Jacks in ninth, 1-0

When the East Texas Pump Jacks take the field in McKinney tonight, they'll be hoping to have more offense than they did on Thursday.

The 'Jacks stumbled a bit Thursday night, but just barely, allowing the homestanding McKinney Marshals to score a run in the bottom of the ninth and escape with a 1-0 Texas Collegiate League win.

East Texas (15-18) has one more road game tonight in McKinney, then comes home to Driller Park to host Coppell on Saturday and Sunday (Saturday a 7:05 p.m. start, Sunday a 5:05 p.m. first-pitch).

On Thursday, the 'Jacks had three hits: J.D. Dunn, Adam De La Garza and Garrett Smith. The loss was a tough one to take for starting pitcher James Alvarado, who threw eight solid innings. McKinney reliever Del Howell got the win, pitching the final two innings.
