13-14 Astros win again

EDITOR'S NOTE: This is the latest report from the Kilgore Boys Baseball Association (KBBA). Reports are submitted to the paper by KBBA coaches or parents, and can be picked up at the concession stand. Names will be spelled in the paper exactly as they appear on the report. The weekly roundup will normally run on Thursday (a day late this week), and are due each Monday by 5 p.m.

Unfortunately, again this week, there is just one game to report.

13-year-olds

• Astros 1, Cubs 0: Ryan Dixon and Deontre Williams combined for a two-hit shutout for the Astros, who ran their record to 4-0 with the victory. Dixon had 11 strikeouts, Williams six, and Williams also doubled and scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Williams threw out a baserunner who was attempting to steal, and Adam Kubiak helped the Astros turn a double play to end a one-out bases-loaded situation in the fifth inning.

The Astros are coached by Greg Mehringer and Marcus Dixon.
