KC to award 260 diplomas Friday in two ceremonies

Kilgore College will award 260 degrees and certificates Friday to graduates at two ceremonies, 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., in Dodson Auditorium on the KC campus. At 5:30, the ceremony will include 176 students receiving Associate of Applied Science and Certificates of Completion. At 8 p.m., Associate of Arts, Associate of Arts in Teaching and Associate of Science degrees will be awarded to 84 students.

Jerry Long, D.D.S., will be the speaker at both ceremonies. Long, a former KC student, graduated from the University of Texas Dental Branch-Houston and is a managing partner of D.D.S. Associates in Houston.

In 1998, Long was named "Texas Dentist of the Year" by the Texas Academy of General Dentistry. He is also an adjunct clinical associate professor at The University of Texas Dental Branch- Houston and served for several years as the Deputy Chief of Hospital Dentistry at The Methodist Hospital in Houston.
