Mavericks beat dysfunctional Knicks, 99-89
      NEW YORK (AP) - Avery Johnson was mad at the Mavericks. The Knicks were disappointed in their fans. Seems plenty of people are unhappy at Madison Square Garden these days. Dirk Nowitzki scored a season-high 36 points, leading Dallas to a 99-89 victory over New York on Monday night. Dallas (14-8) is off tonight, and visits Toronto on Wednesday, a 6 p.m. tipoff.

Bulldogs freshmen, JV play at Tatum tonight; Lady 'Dogs home against Lions to open 12-4A play
      The trek through the District 12-4A schedule begins tonight for coach Davia Garrett and the Kilgore High School girls basketball program. Garrett's Lady Bulldogs open 12-4A play at home against Henderson tonight - junior varsity, coached by Jerry Reddic, tips off at 5 p.m., followed by varsity. The Lady Bulldogs haven't played since a loss at Tatum last Tuesday night.

      HARLETON - The Sabine High School Cardinals made several rallies late in the game and scored 29 fourth-quarter points to overcome Commerce, 65-62, in the Saturday night's championship game of the Harleton Wildcat Invitational Tournament.
