Not ranked after beating No. 1 Blinn two weeks ago, KC leaps into top 10
      Beating the No. 1 team in the nation apparently wasn't good enough to get Kilgore College ranked in the NJCAA/JUCOfootball.com top 20 poll. Apparently, the Rangers winning their fourth straight game was. Cowboys' Crayton alarming defenses

      IRVING (AP) - Patrick Crayton was so excited about the potential for the Dallas Cowboys' offense this season that he made a bold prediction this summer. Crayton told backup quarterback Brad Johnson the Cowboys were going to take aim at the NFLrecord of 556 points set by Johnson's 1998 Minnesota Vikings.

Gregg County Ducks Unlimited banquet a success once again
      More than 450 enthusiastic outdoorsmen and conservationists gathered at Longview's Maude Cobb Activity and Convention Center Tuesday night to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Ducks Unlimited and to attend the 38th annual Gregg County DU banquet. Kim Winn of Longview chaired the event.
