ROY V. BELCHER

Funeral services for Roy V. Belcher, 74, Kilgore, will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Aaron Bequette officiating. Burial will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Troup.

Mr. Belcher died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007 at his residence in Kilgore. He was born Jan. 20, 1933 in Tyler to the late Coster Jackson and Janie Faye Banks Belcher. He is a veteran of the US Army and served two terms in the Korean War. He worked in Oilfield construction and retired from Southwest Tank in Henderson. He was a lifelong Baptist.

He was a special man who was liked by many and loved by all. He loved fishing, vegetable and flower gardening.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Belcher on January 19, 1998 and by a granddaughter, Jennifer Lane on May 12, 1999. He was also preceded by two brothers, William Belcher and C. J. Belcher, and a sister, Mary Katherine Belcher.

He is survived by a special friend, Anita Holloway of Kilgore; three sons and daughters-in-law, Edwin David and Melissa Michelle Belcher of Houston, Ronnie and Pattie Belcher of Henderson, and Randy Ray and Phyllis Belcher of Alto; three daughters and two sons-inlaw, Melissa Suzanne Belcher of New London, Karen and Anthony Lopez of Kilgore, and Sharon and Steve Cruz of Gladewater; seventeen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Steve Cruz, Tony Lopez, Ray Trevino, Basil Cofield, Tony Clinkscales and Eric Collier. Honorary pallbearer will be Art Penny.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 7, at the funeral home.
