Practice begins for '07 Bulldogs
First day in pads will be Friday; first scrimmage set for Aug. 18
      They didn't begin practice at midnight, or have the cheerleaders and Hi-Steppers and marching band lined up for an impromptu fest, or even have "We Will Rock You" blaring from speakers outside the Mitchell Field House.

Sabine season tickets go on sale Monday
HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL
      There's a fresh outlook on football at Sabine High School this year with a new head coach, and with that excitement comes season ticket sales. Season tickets for previous season ticket-holders will go on sale on Monday, Aug. 13 at the high school office. Tickets are $20 each and include all games at Sabine's James Bamberg Stadium.

MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL
      ARLINGTON (AP) - Mike Piazza helped put an end to a wild game that included a huge comeback, ejections and a whole lot of strikeouts. Piazza singled in the go-ahead run in the 13th inning and seven Oakland pitchers combined for 21 strikeouts in a 9-7 victory over the Texas Rangers on Monday night.

T.O.'s back problems not deemed serious

      SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Terrell Owens' back pain is just spasms and isn't considered serious. An MRI done Monday, when Owens missed the Dallas Cowboys' practice for the second straight day, showed no problems. Dallas opens its preseason schedule at home Thursday against Indianapolis.
