RUSSELL C. MCGILVRAY

Services for Russell C. McGilvray, 48, of Athens, are scheduled for 10 A.M. Thursday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Kyle Henderson officiating.

Graveside services and interment will follow at 3 p.m. in the Arnold Cemetery in Cherokee County near Alto under the direction of Carroll Lehr Funeral Home. Mr. McGilvray died April 29, 2007 in Athens.

He was born April 15, 1959 in Pasadena to Edwin Duane and Clara Frances Murphy McGilvray. Russell was a 1977 graduate of Kilgore High School, attended Kilgore College and was presently attending Trinity Valley Community College. He served in the National Guard. He had been a resident of Athens 12 years and was a member of First Baptist Church and was very involved with Celebrate Recovery at the church. Russell loved music and enjoyed playing the piano and guitar and was considered a good cook.

Survivors include three daughters, Duana Nicole McGilvray Sheffield, Cameron, Karrah Jordan McGilvray, Miranda Chayne McGilvray, of Conroe; mother, Fran McGilvray, Athens; brother, Richard D. McGilvray and wife Gerri, of Athens; one granddaughter; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, three nephews and one niece.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
