KIBA's Annual banquet set

Kilgore Improvement Beautification Association will select the "Best of the Best" among Yard of the Month winners and honor past Beauty Spot, Yard of the Month and commercial winners - and install new officers and board members - at their annual awards banquet.

The annual banquet is 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 10 at the First Christian Church Family Center.

Tickets are $10 from any KIBA member, at the Kilgore News Herald or the chamber of commerce.

Banquet menu includes chicken spaghetti, green beans, salad, banana pudding and tea, catered by Boomtown BBQ.

Peggy Bowne, KIBA president, will also recognize those who contribute their time and service to the White Elephant thrift store.

KIBA leads Kilgore in cleanup efforts, planting and beautification. Recently KIBA members organized the planting of 10,000 daffodils and a successful Make Kilgore Shine cleanup day.

KIBA has another litter abatement project scheduled, in conjunction with the Texas Trash Off, Saturday, April 14.

KIBA raises money through memberships and White Elephant sales.
