HIGH SCHOOL graduation requirements have grown so complicated that schools now start explaining them to middle school students.

AT SABINE Middle School, students and parents are encouraged to attend a special meeting to learn about required and elective courses for next year’s seventh, eighth

SINCE the death of Charles Lewis several years ago, our weekly Oil and Gas Report has been prepared and submitted by the good folks at Joyce Dukes Reporting Service.

JOYCE, a resident of Henderson, died last week. As a result, the office was closed for several days, so there is no report in this week’s paper.

TANA McBride, Joyce’s niece and a member of the Joyce Dukes crew, will assume operation of the company and resume the report in time for next Sunday’s paper.

THE holiday has been a major event in France since the Middle Ages.

FAT Tuesday is always 47 days before Easter.

CELEBRATIONS of Mardi Gras in Texas include parades and parties in Jefferson and Galveston this weekend.

OSCAR Still, owner of the Rabbit Creek park off Highway 42 just south of I20, said he expected 5,000 guests at his party this weekend.
