Cara Harcoerode gives program on "Michal"

Christian Women's Fellowship met on at 6:30 p.m. October 16 6:30 pm in the church's family room. Hostesses were Flossie Hankins and Geraldine Cox. The meeting was called to order by president, Cathy Fothergill. The CWF prayer was said, and then the group were served refreshments of sandwiches, cake, pumpkin dip, gingersnaps, chips, nuts, candy, and hot cider. After refreshments each member shared their favorite Bible verse. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The treasurer, Peggy Bowne, gave the treasurer's report. The president asked for old business, and Carroll Bolton reported that the group has approval from the board to proceed on a

new history room, as long as it can still be used as a classroom. The scrapbooks are well identified, but there are problems in transferring them to another scrapbook. It was suggested that we might consider adding a historian to our slate of officers to properly keep church and CWF history. Geraldine Cox reminded everyone that the Willow's birthday part is October 18, at 2:30 pm. Wanda Chapman will play the piano. Everyone was invited to come out and enjoy this party. Wilma Cooke reported that the Kilgore Church Women's luncheon will be on October 27, 11:30 am, at Christ the King Catholic Church. She encouraged everyone to attend and support the church. Ms. Cooke passed out names of our shutins,

and reports of illness in the church was discussed. The president asked for new business. Virginia Wallace encouraged everyone to remember the community concert. The movies, "Facing the Giants" and "One Night With The King," were recommended. There being no further business, the meeting was turned over to Cara Harcoerode, who gave a program on "Michal." The CWF Benediction was said by members Laura Lea Blanks, Carroll Bolton, Peggy Bowne, Wilma Cooke, Geraldine Cox, Cathy Fothergill, Cara Harcoerode, Flossie Hankins, Bea Jones, Carolyn Kennedy, Virginia Wallace, and Ellen Watson.
