FM 349 improvements discussed

Kilgore Economic Development Corporation (KEDC) is working with Adam's Engineering on a plan to add turn lanes at the south entrance to Synergy Park on FM 349.

"This will provide a lane for vehicles traveling east on 349 to slow down and turn in to Synergy Park without disrupting traffic flow and also an 'acceleration lane' for vehicles exiting the park," Nobles said. "The acceleration

lane will get large trucks out of the park and allow them to speed up but not enough to have to slow down before entering the loop."

The preliminary engineering cost for the project study is $8,500.

The "front gate" to Synergy Park fronts on the Hwy. 259 bypass.

KEDC will host the Habitat for Humanity Derrick Run

scheduled for 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 4 at Synergy Park. Entry fee for the race is $15 in advance or $18 on race day.

Trophies will be awarded for first place male and female overall and for first, second and third male and female in each age class.

For more information on the race or to get an entry form call 903-986-1912.
