EDDIE C. GALLAWAY

Funeral services for Eddie C. Gallaway, 91, Overton, were Wednesday, Oct. 25, in the First United Methodist Church, Overton with the Rev. Kelly S. Krone and Rev. Ricky Ricks officiating. Burial followed in the Kilgore City Cemetery under direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.

Mr. Gallaway died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006 in Tyler. He was born January 3, 1915 in Kosciusko, MS to the late Frank and Leiura Williams Gallaway. He married Marianna Whittington on July 30, 1939 in Kilgore. He was a hard working, dedicated family man and loved the outdoors.

Mr. Gallaway was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Marianna Gallaway on Jan. 5, 1999. He was also preceded by a brother and a sister, Steve Gallaway, Ft. Worth, and Leise Robbins, Seattle, Washington.

He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tom Gallaway, New Braunfels and Dick and C.C. Gallaway, Ft. Worth; a daughter, Patsy Gallaway Williams, Overton; a brother, Bob Gallaway, Bryan; two sisters, Sybil Erwin, Phoenix Hills, Oregon, and Phylis Bailey, Kerrville; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Mike Gallaway, Tim Gallaway, Walter Heywood, Chris Williams, John Davidson, Billy Vernon, Jack Craig, and Randy McDaniel.

Honorary pallbearers will be T. D. Higgs, Jim Gibson, Bruce Bradshaw, Dr. Jim Hamilton, and Greg Thompson.
