ALMA L. SOHL

Alma Louise Sohl, 96, of Kilgore, passed Oct.21, 2006. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Oct. 27, 2006 at the Salem Lutheran Church in Springdale, AR with Pastor Mark Q. L. Louderback officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening, Oct. 26, 2006 from 5 to 7 pm, at Memorial Funeral Home in Springdale, AR.

Alma Louise Carolina Drittler Sohl was born Aug. 18, 1910, in Lutherville, AR. She was the daughter of Frederick Drittler and Carolina Giessler Drittler. She was baptized, confirmed and attended parochial school at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lutherville. On June 14, 1941, she was united in marriage to Frederick C. Sohl at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and moved to Johnson, AR, where they lived until 1961 when they moved to Springdale, AR.

Alma worked at the Springdale Memorial Hospital where she retired. In 1992, she moved to Kilgore, and lived with her daughter, Sharon, until Alzheimer's disease resulted in her being placed at the Alzheimer's unit in Lynn Lodge, Longview. She was later moved to Kilgore Manor in Kilgore, where she was residing at the time of her death.

Mrs. Sohl is survived by her four daughters and their husbands, Charlotte and Don Herrell of Mitchell, NE, Irene and Eric Rapp of Avoca, WI, Freda and Charles Piazza, Tontitown, AR, and Sharon and Danny Sampson of Kilgore; a granddaughter and her husband; six grandsons and their wives; seven great grandsons; five great granddaughters; a sister, Kathryn Lohse of Archold, Ohio; one brother, R. F. "Billy" Drittler of Springdale A.R..

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990 and her parents, three sisters and six brothers.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers: Cora Holt, Melissa Sanders, Maggie Brown, Paula Dennis, and especially to Pam Scott whose selfless dedication always made her day brighter; sisters, Pat Johnson, who joyfully entertained Miss Alma for over ten years and Linda Taylor, whose delicious cooking nourished her for a decade; and the wonderful caring staff of Kilgore Manor.
