Intermediate School Diary

PAIGE WEISS

Paige Weiss Paige Weiss Kilgore Intermediate School

If you drove by Kilgore College on October 11, 2006, you may have thought that it changed into an Intermediate School with a bunch of nine and ten year olds watching an original opera of Little Red Riding Hood!

Well I was one of those nine and ten year olds watching it. At the beginning I thought "Man this is going to be boring!" But when it got started I was like "wow this is exiting".

If you are like me, you would love to see an opera like that! This was my first time going to see an opera, and I loved it!

The cast that played it was Christopher Hicks, as The Big Bad Wolf, Veronica Wheeler as Little Red, Nancy Keen, as mother, Kerah Smith as grandma and Will Shlinke as The Woodsman.

My favorite character is Grandma. I like the part when the wolf starts to chase her around the bed! I bet everybody liked it!

My favorite part is when Little Red is walking through the forest and the wolf tries to eat her. But when she says, "I'm going to bring grandma some cakes, tarts, cookies and all kinds of sweets, vegetables, and fruits" and when she starts to say that the wolf starts to moan and groan with pain and starts to feel sick, then she gets away.

I also like the end where we get to shake all the casts hands. I was scared to shake the wolf 's hand and so were my friends!

So that's my exuberant adventure to the original opera of "Little Red Riding Hood."

This is the first in a series of "diaries" from Kilgore Intermediate School and Kilgore Middle School. Paige Weiss and Dafne Trevizo will chronicle life at Kilgore Intermediate School.- Ed.
