Trip to Hidden Gardens for Civic Garden Club

Members of the civic garden club enjoy a day at Hidden Gardens in Bullard Members of the civic garden club enjoy a day at Hidden Gardens in Bullard Civic Garden Club traveled to Hidden Gardens in Bullard on Wednesday, September 13, for their first meeting of the year.

Before the business meeting began, members viewed the gardens filled with lovely plants and flowers. As members gathered on the front porch of the Hidden Gardens Restaurant, Sandee Walters, president, called the meeting to order. Lavada Thomas gave the invocation. Martha Clark, recording secretary, called the roll and reports were given on absentee members.

Marian Richardson, treasurer, gave the treasure's report and

handed out the 2006-07 club budget. The budget was approved. Corresponding Secretary Wanda Bittick read a thank you letter form Kilgore Habitat for Humanity. Linda Wolverton collected for Helping Hands and reports on KIBA were given by Diana Ponder and Lavada Thomas. A city-wide clean up day sponsored by KIBA will be Saturday, November 11.

Sandee Walters gave a report on the Blue Star Memorial and announced plans for a Dec. 7 dedication at the Harris Street park. Kim Gore handed out the club yearbooks and pointed out several highlights to look forward to during the new club year.

Martha Clark introduced Judy Wilkins who has visited several times, and members voted to accept her as a new member.

Members then went inside the restaurant for a delicious lunch. Attending were Wanda Bittick, Roberta Boggs, Martha Clark, Jennie Daigle, Alma Nell Farmer, Joy Foaster, Kim Gore, Marcella Harkrider, Gay Leath, Karen May , Doyce Maywald, Diana Ponder, Louise Raby, Marian Richardson, Darlene Sanders, Lavada Thomas, Sandee Walters, Dorothy Wilkerson, Linda Wolverton, Dimples Burns and Judy Wilkins.
