WIND POWER HITS HOME

2006-09-07 / Front Page

Paul Westbrook inspects his Skystream residential wind generator before the unit is hoisted near his home in Fairview (Collin County) yesterday. The 35-foot wind turbine, one of several in a new consumer line of wind generators, represents potential savings, but also an emerging wind industry market targeting residents, farms and small businesses. It is believed to be the first residential wind turbine in the state. Westbook is hopeful that strong westerly winds in the area will reduce his electric bill by 40 percent.
