U.N. chief says Europe will provide half of peacekeeping force

BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) U.N. Secretary-General KofiAnnan said Friday that Europe had agreed to provide nearly half of a 15,000-member peacekeeping force for Lebanon and European officials said it would take up to three months to get all the troops on the ground.
