HARRY H. SEIDEL

Services for Harry H. Seidel, 83, of Kilgore, Texas will be 11 A.M., Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Kilgore, Texas, with the Reverend Ernie Turney officiating. Burial will follow later in Arlington National Cemetery.

Mr. Seidel was born Oct. 19, 1922 in Sandoval, IL where he graduated from Sandoval High School. He served our country in the United States Army during WWII, where he fought at Omaha Beach, the Liberation of Paris, the Hurtigan Forrest and was taken as a Prisoner of War, Dec. 18, 1944 in Hosingen, Luxembourg during the Battle of the Bulge. After the war Mr. Seidel returned to Robinson, IL. where he worked for the Getty Oil Company. While in Robinson, he was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, the Moose Lodge and the American Legion. He was transferred to Kilgore, in 1972 and retired there in 1980. He was a member of the St. Luke's United Methodist Church, the Meadowbrook Country Club, the Ex POW and the DAV of East Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine McCarty Seidel of Kilgore; two sons, Dr. Edward Allen Seidel of Washington, DC and William McCarty Seidel of Grapevine; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna C. and Edward A. Seidel, and a brother, E. Charles Seidel.

Pallbearers are to be: Jim Hren, Harry Havins, William R. Grubb, M.D., David Headrick, Allen D. Grubb, Robert Smith.

Honorary Pallbearers are to be: J. D. Hancock, Gail Grisham, Doyle Craver, James Kennedy.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice or St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 401 Main Street, Kilgore, Texas 75662.
