HOMEGROWN FOURTH OF JULY
 Jolie Moorman, 5, from Liberty City took first place in the sack race yesterday. Jolie is the daughter of Julie and Thomas Moorman. The races were part of a Fourth of July party, hosted by First Baptist Church, that drew several hundred people during the day.  Alex Carroll, 4, comes off the water slide at City Park yesterday. Alex is the son of Sid and Gayla Carroll of Kilgore.  An honor guard from Boy Scout Troop 252 - Kyle Weaver, J.J. Johnson, Jeremy Berryhill and Ben Nix conduct a traditional flag retirement ceremony yesterday at City Park. After the flag is burned the ashes are buried.  Daylen Martin of Longview takes his pie eating contests very seriously. The only prize Martin ended up with was pie on his face.  Sara Beth Phetteplace, 15, from Many, La. entertained the July 4th crowd yesterday performing two different sets during the day. |
