Crisis Center collects shoes for students

The Kilgore Crisis Center is gearing up for its annual Back-To-School Shoe Drive for children from pre-kindergarten through Senior High School.

Students who qualify for free school supplies are also eligible to receive free shoes at the Crisis Center, 905 Broadway St.

Last year, the center received 40 pairs of shoes and $300 in donations to purchase shoes. The Center's Thrift Shop added shoes, as well as clothing, so that 141 children received school shoes and/or clothes.

This year, the center expects to need at least 160 pairs of shoes.

Residents wishing to participate may donated either news or nearly-new shoes or make a monetary donation in the form of cash or gift cards to be used to purchase shoes.

For more information, call (903)984-3019.
