LU summer camp schedule set

LeTourneau University will offer week-long summer day camps for students ages 6-17, and are designed to help students enjoy hands-on learning opportunities throughout the summer. The camps run June 5 through July 28.

"With over 70 academic camps and nearly 30 athletic camps, there is something for everyone," said Rica Payton, coordinator of camps, conferences and continuing studies.

A catalog is available by calling the Office of Continuing Studies at (903) 233-4090 or online at www.letu.edu/camps.

New this year is "Outrageous Afternoons" camp offered every week of the summer for students in kindergarten through 6th grade with outdoor games, creative art, cooking, computer time activities, just to name a few.

"Don't miss out on combining everything you've ever wanted to do at camp into five days," Payton said.

"This year, we have expanded the ever-popular LEGO Robotics camps for kids for 6th through 12th grade," Payton said.

Art camps this year are taught by Cynthia Bode. There are "Artist Alley" from June 5-9 for grades 3 through 6; "Little Strokes for Artistic Folks" June 19-23 for grades 4 through 6; and "Create a Critter" art camp July 10-14 for students in grades 3 through 5.

Drama and cinema camps taught by Doris Collier return this year, too.

Science and cinema camps are also available.
