S&K Pump completes giant pump for off-shore platform

Eight weeks of work, two very large cranes, a flat bed truck and

80,000-pound piece of equipment means business is going well at S & K Supply.

Supply said the 80,000pound well service pump is slated

for an off-shore drilling rig near the coast of Malaysia. It will be put on a boat in

Houston, shipped to Singapore and then to its final destination in Malaysia," said Davison.

Davison said the double pump sells for approximately $700,000 and is about the largest service well pump S & K produces. "Of course, we also produce pumps two guys can walk in the shop and pick up; there is just a variety of demand in this business," said Davison.

Davison said this is the seventh pump of this size S & K Supply has produced and shipped all over the world.

S & K Supply is located at 316 S. Kilgore St. in Kilgore and has been at this location since 1989.
