ANDREW DUANE WILLIAMS

Funeral services for Andrew Duane Williams, age 74, of Henderson, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday May 18, 2006 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Henderson with Rev. Bill Tisdale officiating. Burial will follow in the Rusk County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Williams passed away Monday night at his residence.

He was born on Oct. 21, 1931 in Rusk County. He was a 1950 graduate of Kilgore High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having proudly served aboard the USS Phillipine Sea during the Korean Conflict. He loved his Navy buddies, and looked forward to their V-51 reunions each year.

He worked two years for Fina Oil Company before going to work for Texas Eastman

where he worked for 36 years until his retirement in Jan. 1993. Duane loved rebuilding antique tractors, a hobby he enjoyed all of his life. He was a devoted father and a loving husband. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Henderson, where he was a member of the James Mason Sunday School Class.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his father Andy Williams, his wife Caroleen Dorsey Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Gibson Williams of Henderson, mother Fay B. Williams of Henderson; son and daughter in law, Kevin and Lorie Williams of Benbrook;

daughter Carrie Sue Williams of Nacogdoches; sister and brother in law Arlene and James Christian of Henderson; grandchildren Sarah Jane Williams, and Matthew Thomas Williams of Benbrook; niece and nephew Jenny Floyd and Milton Christian.

Pallbearers will be L.D. Hardy, Neal Spencer, Garth Dobbs, Farrell Dorsey, John Aldredge, Roger Engel, Charles Kinard and Al Gilson.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
