Serving as hostesses for the month were Jo. Simon, Wilma Bryant, Ruth Medlock, Virginia Cameron and Mrs. Darnetta Strong. After the election of officers and the business session the hostesses held a program in recognition of all mothers. The program opened with the group singing "What a Fellowship," followed by the Origin of Mothers day by Mrs. Strong. Jo Simon gave the acronym for Mother and presented scriptures reminding us of What the Bible Says About Mothers. She then shared a humorous selection called "Motherly Advice." The program ended with a selection called "Beatitudes for Mothers" presented by Wilma Bryant. Hostesses provided door prizes and there were five winners: Wilma Woods, Virginia Cameron, Peggy Jackson, Mrs. Nerline Faber and guest, Joston Davis. After the door prizes, hostesses served a scrumptious meal of potato salad, ham and smoked sausage, green beans, garlic sticks and several desserts: seven-up cake, lemon pie, and apple crumb pie. Upcoming activities include a visit to Kilgore Manor, an awards celebration, worship and fellowship together and a visit to Avinger to see the wild flowers trail. Hostesses for the May meeting at Ryan's in longview are Geneva Taylor, Jean Wheatfall, Mrs. Nerline Faber and Floydine Taylor.
