Maly appointed to TRAEDB By BRENDA ALLUMS news1@kilgorenewsherald.com Robert Maly was appointed to the east Texas Regional Airport Economic Development Board Thursday by Gregg County Commissioners. Commissioners met in regular session Thursday in a short meeting. Maly, president of Maly and Associates, consulting engineers, designed and helped with the construction of the Longview Business Park for Longview Economic Development Corporation. He is a an active member of the Longview South Rotary Club and served as president of that organization. He is a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and served as Chairman of the Drainage Committee for the Longview City Council. Commissioners also approved a landbank agreement that will allow the county to work with the city of Longview on Landbank Program for providing tax-foreclosed properties to entities that construct low-income housing. The agreement will immediately benefit Habitat for Humanity. The city of Longview has already approved the agreement. In other business, commissioners approved: A request from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1183 for use of the courthouse lawn on May 29 at 11 a.m. for the annual Memorial Day Ceremonies; Approved a request from Jose Sanchez for the use of the courthouse grounds for an immigration rally on Sunday, April 30, at from 2 to 5:30 p.m.
