Annual Job-A-Thon to be held this week The East Texas Workforce Center will hold its annual JobA-Thon, Tuesday, May 9 beginning at noon. CBS-19 will again host a live broadcast through 10:30 p.m. This is the third Job-A-Thon the East Texas Workforce and CBS19 have produced. The telethon is an opportunity to access local, state, national and international employment listings. Job-A-Thon operators will be available to highlight openings and answer questions Interested persons should call tool free 887-ETWORKS or (903)939-8187 in the Tyler area. Job opportunities will cover the East Texas Workforce area comprised of offices in 14 counties including Anderson, Camp, Cherokee, Gregg, Harrison, Henderson, Marion, Panola, Rains, Rusk, Smith, Upshur, Van Zandt and Wood. This year's Gold Sponsors include Express Personnel Services, Halliburton, Hall's Chevrolet and Trinity Rail. At noon on May 9, the Job-AThon will begin. During special programs scheduled to air form noon until 6:30 p.m., Job-AThon sponsors and their job opportunities will be highlighted. Updates will be aired throughout the day, ending at 10:30 p.m. To investigate an opening, the viewer can call in and operators will share information concerning available openings and direct job applicants to the nearest Workforce Center for assistance. The East Texas Workforce Centers are overseen by the East Texas Workforce Development Board, comprised of volunteers representing business, labor, education and community organizations throughout the 14 counties. East Texas Workforce Centers provide one-stop shopping for business resources and employment solutions. The centers provide connection to employment, training and career opportunities through available services and partnerships with business, education and training institutions, economic development and faith-based organizations.
