Sabine High Good Citizen
Myles Austin Adamson Myles Austin Adamson, son of David and Melissa Adamson, 173 Fawn Creek, and senior at Sabine High School has been named DAR Good Citizen of his school for 2006.
Myles was nominated by a faculty committee and elected to this high honor by his fellow seniors.
Myles ranks academically in the top ten of his senior class at Sabine. He is on the all "A" Honor Roll, has been named Who's Who in English, Who's Who in Chemistry, is a Global Scholar with Distinction, and a Rotary Club Student of the Month. Myles was named an Ideal Student, elected Class Favorite in 2005, selected for the Rotary Youth Leadership Award Camp, and is an Eagle Scout.
Myles has been a member of the Sabine High School Cardinal Band for four years, President of the Student Council, member of Anchor Club, on the UIL Math and Science team, on the PROM Committee and Project Graduation.
Myles is a 4-year basketball team member, has run cross country 2 years, track 2 years, and a member of the tennis team for one year.
Myles works as a volunteer at Hi-Way 80 Rescue Mission, volunteers at Gregg Home for the Aged and the Truman Smith Children's Center at Gladewater. Myles has made Mission trips to Mexico with church groups and has been involved in activities which include the Alzheimer's walk, Eagle Scout project and the Sabine Community Christmas lighting project.
At the Senior's Honor Assembly in May, Myles will be presented a Good Citizen's Certificate along with a DAR Good Citizen lapel pin. The Samuel Paul Dinkins Chapter, NSDAR extends its congratulations to Myles on his election by his fellow seniors at Sabine High School as their DAR Good Citizen for the class of 2006.
