R. ANDREW "HOZY" HOZDISH R. Andrew "Hozy" Hozdish, age 25, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Monday, April 3, 2006. Andrew was born Sep. 7, 1980 in Houston, TX to Robert Perry and Roxanne Hozdish. Graduating from North Shore High School in 1999, Andrew began his career in the funeral industry working at Howard-Glendale Funeral Home. After high school, Andrew attended Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service, receiving his associates degree in 2000. He moved to Kilgore, upon accepting a position as an apprentice with Rader Funeral Home. Andrew returned to Houston in September '04 and began working at The Settegast-Kopf Co. Funeral Directors, where he endeared himself to the staff and the families he served. Andrew loved sports, he played golf and was a passionate Astros baseball fan. He also had very eclectic and wide ranging taste in music, books and off beat movies, often quoting movie lines to the delight of others around him. He is survived by his devoted mother, Roxanne; father, Robert; loving sister, Mollie Anne and his precious niece, Alexandria Beth "Pete" Spradlin; his special friends, Scott and Cayla Hunt, Tim Hunt, Martha Bonin, Carrie Spiegle, Jeff and Margo Davis and their children, Haylie, Karsen and his namesake Garrett Andrew Davis; and his faithful chocolate lab, Hutch. He is also survived by many family and friends to numerous to mention. Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at The Settegast Kopf Co. Funeral Directors, 3320 Kirby Drive. A celebration of Andrew's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2006 in the Chapel of The Settegast-Kopf Co. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Houston Public Radio or to the charity of your choice. A constant source of laughter, Andrew will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
