Broadway lights up Longview

LONGVIEW -Opera East Texas and the Longview Community Theater will combine their talents and present "Broadway Nights" on March 25 25 at 7 p.m. nightly.

The musical review will feature stars of musical productions of LCT who will present an evening of favorite "hits" from Broadway musicals. Selections from "South Pacific," "Music Man," "The King and I," "Sound of Music," "Guys & Dolls," Jeckyl & Hyde," "Fiddler on the Roof," "Smoke on the Mountain," and many more will be presented by the local stars who "once upon a time" sang the song on stage at the Longview Community Center.

The production is under the coordination of Deborah Gilbert, marketing associate for Opera East Texas, and Michael Cook, director of LCT.

The 13-member cast is made up of all local singers who will perform the hour and a half production at Longview Community Center, 500 E. Whaley Street.

Tickets are $20 and go on sale at the Opera East Texas office, 903-234-1300. Tickets are available in Longview at Mundt Music or Barron's. Tickets at the door are $25.

Only general seating is available. Doors open at 6 p.m.
