Lane closures due in Arp area

The Texas Department of T r a n s p o r t a t i o n ' s (TxDOT)work on SH 64 between SH 135 and the Rusk County line near Arp has moved into its pavement repair stage, meaning daytime lane closures will be in effect for the remainder of the project.

Motorists travelling this route should leave early and be prepared to stop for flaggers during daylight hours. The work zone speed limit has been reduced to 50 mph and is in effect 24 hours per day.

The overall objective of the project is to widen the shoulders on the highway and add them where they didn't exist previously.

The resurfacing operation will occur in multiple phases, and will require at least three separate paving operations down the length of the job over the coming months.
