GERHARD LACZNY
He was born in Glogau, Germany, now a part of Poland, April 10, 1912. His family migrated to Fort Worth through Ellis Island when he was 12 years old. Mr. Laczny attended Ft. Worth public schools. He was a furniture upholster working for Davis and A. Brandt manufacturers in Ft. Worth. Mr. Laczny raised his family in the Bedford Community, where he was one of the original founders of the Bedford Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Laczny was an avid fisherman, he loved Waltz's and Polka's, but was most known for his delicious since of humor. He moved to Kilgore eight years ago and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Kilgore. Mr. Laczny is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Phyllis Laczny of Tucson, Arizona, Bill and Lorie Laczny of Colleyville, Texas; a daughter, Martha Fertitta of Kilgore; nine grandchildren; sixteen greatgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A rosary will be recited six p.m. Monday evening at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel of Kilgore; the family will receive friends immediately following the Rosary.
