Abatement tops county agenda Gregg County Commissioners will consider the approval of two tax abatements at Monday’s regular commission meeting. Frac Tech Services LLC and LeTourneau, Inc. have both requested tax abatements from the county. Commissioners are scheduled to meet at 10 a.m. in the commissioners’ courtroom at Gregg County Courthouse. Commissioner are also scheduled to consider a funding agreement between the county and the Elderville/Lakeport Volunteer Fire Department. The agenda also include a request to ratify and approve a Memorandum of Lease between the county and A.R.M.S. Building and Maintenance, Inc. and the collateral assignments of the lessee’s interest. Other agenda items include: A request to proclaim March 19 25 Poison Prevention Week in Gregg County; A request to assist the Longview University Center, located in Precinct 1, in mowing the western area of the campus during the upcoming season; A request from Pine Tree ISD in Precinct 2 for assistance in asphalting the high school’s faculty parking lot; A request to reappoint Ken Cunningham, Dave Spurrier and Linda Butter Thomas to the RMA Board. A request for the creation of a deputy position in the SHeriff ’s Office for the purpose of enhancing the safety and security of the Community Supervision Correction Division Facility.
