LETTER TO THE EDITOR Dear Editor, Please allow me to clarify what was written in the Kilgoround Friday about the Remembering Gussie Nell book project, sponsored by Rangerettes Forever. First, let me make it clear that I was not the founder and first director of the Kilgore College Rangerettes. Miss Gussie Nell Davis holds that supreme accomplishment and honor. I am seeking remembrances, tributes, anecdotes, etc. of Miss Davis, who is also known as the creator of the dance/drill phenomenon. If you were a Rangerette, please include your years. If you were not a Rangerette, please include your connection to Miss Davis. The legacy of this extraordinary lady impacted not only the many young ladies who were in the Rangerette organization, but also thousands of other dance/drill team members. She birthed the dance/drill industry, which is now a multibillion dollar business around the world. Gussie Nell Davis was such a multifaceted personality that the Rangerettes Forever organization is hoping to receive remembrances from many different perspectives. Please send your memory or tribute to Martha Deen at mhdeen@hotmail. com or mail to 9207 FM 1249E, Kilgore, TX, 75662. Thank You, MARTHA DEEN, past president of Rangerettes Forever +++ To the Editor, I have thought a lot about the 4a to a 4b conversion for Kilgore Economic Development company. I agree with Mr. Gough's letter in your paper. I feel the citizens and voters of Kilgore have every right to vote on how this company spends our tax money. Furthermore, I feel we need to be able to vote on what the city spends our money on. For example, I feel the city needs to make a list of all expenditures it expects to make on roads (repair and such), landscaping, and waterline repair to name just a few. This list should be posted in the paper and the voters should have the right to approve what the city proposes. Just like voting on activities of the KEDC I think this is only proper. Thank You.
