CHARLES F. ADKINS

Graveside services for Charles F. Adkins, 91, of Kilgore will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006 at Kilgore Memorial Gardens with Rev. Earl W. “Buddy” Duggins officiating. Mr. Adkins passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006 in Kilgore.

He was born Nov.14, 1914 in Huntington, WV., to Grover C. and Kity Adkins. He came to Kilgore in 1937 to work for Halliburton. Later he was transferred to Oklahoma City. After his retirement from Halliburton, he returned to Kilgore in 1974 and worked as a petroleum landman in East Texas. He was a member of Forest Home Baptist Church and Danville Masonic Lodge #101.

He is survived by his wife Marie Adkins of Kilgore; son, Alex and Priscilla Adkins of Virginia Beach, VA.; two daughters, Jeannie Adkins of Tyler, Kathy Adkins of San Antonio; step-daughter, Patricia and John Fay of Sycamore, Ill.; three step-sons, Steve and Kelly Suriano of Austin, Mike Suriano of Green Bay, WI., Joe Suriano of Kilgore; eight grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
