RUSK COUNTY TREASURE HUNTERS ASSOCIATION will have their monthly meeting at East Side Baptist Church Fellowship Hall (2300 E. Main St. & Hwy. 79 North/Carthage Hwy.) on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend to learn more of metal detecting and treasure hunting. CIVIC GARDEN CLUB will meet Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 9:30 a.m. at the Olympia Waste Landfill. Remember to wear your “Litter Hat” for the Litter Hat contest.

LIBERTY CITY WATER SUPPLY CORP. will hold its annual membership meeting Monday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. in the corporation’s office at 193 PR 3508. Members will elect directors to expiring board terms. Two directors positions are currently open and members interested in running should contact the corporation office for a qualifications and consent form. Forms must be turned in no later than Jan. 27.

THE HOSPITAL AUXILIARY AT LAIRD MEMORIAL HOSPITAL is all-but out of books for hospital patients. If you have paperbacks to spare, please take them to the hospital auxiliary station inside the main entrance to the hospital.

THE KILGORE OILPATCH BREAKFAST KIWANIS CLUB meets every Friday at 7 a.m. at the Kilgore Public Library. Fee free to stop by for coffee and donuts and good programs and fellowship.

EXPLORE THE CHRISTIAN LIFE: The Alpha Course will meet each Sunday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Kilgore First Church of the Nazarene, 309 E. Sabine. The Alpha class is a free study group for people initially exploring the Christian faith, those new to the faith, and those who feel they need a good “jump start” to their spiritual life. T.O.P.S. TAKING OFF POUNDS SENSIBLY, is a weight-loss support that meets Monday evenings at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Kilgore.
