THE RUSK COUNTY DEMOCRATIC CLUB will not meet in November. The next meeting will be on Jan. 24, 2006.

LIBERTY CITY WATER SUPPLY CORP. will hold its annual membership meeting Monday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. in the corporation’s office at 193 PR 3508. Members will elect directors to expiring board terms. Two directors positions are currently open and members interested in running should contact the corporation office for a qualifications and consent form. Forms must be turned in no later than Jan. 27.

LAIRD HOSPITAL AUXILIARY is collecting paperback books. Please bring novels – no Harlequin romances please – to the auxiliary’s station in the lobby at Laird Memorial Hospital.

THE ALZHEIMER’S SUPPORT GROUP will be meeting the first Thursday of every month at 4 p.m. in the conference room at Laird Memorial Hospital. The program is for caregivers and families caring for someone with Alzheimer’s Disease and meetings will be led by Cathy Farrow, RN.

THE KILGORE OILPATCH BREAKFAST KIWANIS CLUB meets every Friday at 7 a.m. at the Kilgore Public Library. Fee free to stop by for coffee and donuts and good programs and fellowship.

EXPLORE THE CHRISTIAN LIFE: The Alpha Course will meet each Sunday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Kilgore First Church of the Nazarene, 309 E. Sabine. The Alpha class is a free study group for people initially exploring the Christian faith, those new to the faith, and those who feel they need a good “jump start” to their spiritual life. T.O.P.S. TAKING OFF POUNDS SENSIBLY, is a weight-loss support that meets Monday evenings at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Kilgore. THE NEW LONDON MUSEUM will now be opening the Tea Room on Saturdays, for salads & sandwiches from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Regular hours for the museum are 9-4 Monday through Friday, Saturday 10-3, and the Tea Room is open Monday-Friday from 10-3.
