INA PUTMAN

Services for Ina Putman, 79, of the Pirtle Community, near Kilgore, are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 7, at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton, with the Reverend Dudley Plaisance officiating. Burial will be in the Pirtle Cemetery.

Mrs. Putman died Monday, December 5, 2005, at her daughter’s residence in Kilgore. She was born November 15, 1926, in Leesburg, Texas to the late Hoyt and Molly Cook Martin. She had been a resident of Rusk County since 1941 and was a member of the Pirtle United Methodist Church.

She was longtime employee of Hodges Men’s Shop, Overton and Service Cleaners, Overton.

She married Harvey Putman in Overton, November 16, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1970. She was also preceded in death by a son, Terry Putman, in 1993, four brothers, D.W. Martin, H.F. ‘Fred’ Martin, D.H. Martin, and Joe Martin, and by a sister, Louise Lindley.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Sammy Morris, Kilgore, five grandchildren and their spouses, Holli and Chris King, Laurie and Kim McDonald, Misty and Floyd Line, Michael Morris, and Melanie and Cody Ferguson; nine great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Gladys Martin, Tyler; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Cody Ferguson, Sammy Morris, Kim McDonald, Floyd Line, Chris King, and Billy Eason.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, December 6.
