Choirs open Trail of Lights activities Tonight, holiday music will ring out from the Commerce Street Stage and performers sing in the holiday for local citizens and visitors alike. Kilgore High School will perform at 6 p.m. Starshine. They will be followed by the Maude Laird Middle School Sixth Grade Choir. Winding up the musical evening will be the choir from the New Birth Fellowship Church. Activities have been planned for Fridays and Saturdays in December as part of the Holiday Trail of Lights. Performing Saturday, Dec. 3, will be Josh Holcombe, the Kilgore College Rangerettes, Dennis Ross and the Axberg Brothers. and Willie Nelson impersonator Mo Truman. Entertainment begins at 6 p.m. Performing Friday, Dec. 9, will be three dance teams and a cheer team from Head over Heels in Kilgore at 6 p.m. Following the dancers and cheerleaders will be the First Baptist Sanctuary Choir and the choir from the Church of the Nazarene. On Saturday, Dec. 10, the audience enjoys performances by the MLMS Cheerleaders, Jeff Howell, Kilgore Highsteppers and a Shining Star Contest. The snow hill will be the main attraction Friday, Dec. 16. It will run from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Highland Park Baptist Church will take stage on Wednesday, Dec. 24. Beginning at 6 p.m. will be performances by the Highland Baptist Sweet assurance and Mighty 4 Four God, Circle of Friends and Mitzi Hartfiel, Sanctuary Choir and children’s groups. The entertainment is free and sure to be a boost to the holiday spirit.
