MAXFIELD THARP SHIELDS

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, for Max Shields, 76, of Kilgore at First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Shields died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005 following surgery.

He was the son of Audrie and Leon Shields and the brother of Lloyd Shields, all of whom preceded him in death.

Having spent most of his life in the teaching profession, Max had lived the last part of his life in retirement in Kilgore.

Max is survived by three nephews, Forrest, Kirk and Sonny Shields; 10 grandnieces and grand-nephews.

Memorials to the Choir Fund at First Presbyterian Church would have been appreciated by Max, as he was a member of the choir for many years.
