DISCOVER DOWNTOWN/CHRISTMAS AT THE COURTHOUSE announces the Lighting of the Courthouse will be Dec. 1 at 6:15 p.m. in Longview with the Christmas parade following at 6:30. Activities and entertainment will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 2-3, 9-10 and 16-17 downtown at Courthouse, Heritage Plaza, Tyler St., Fredonia St., Museums and Kargo Clothing, Inc.

T.O.P.S. TAKING OFF POUNDS SENSIBLY, is a weight-loss support that meets Monday evenings at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Kilgore. EXPLORE THE CHRISTIAN LIFE: The Alpha Course will meet each Sunday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Kilgore First Church of the Nazarene, 309 E. Sabine. The Alpha class is a free study group for people initially exploring the Christian faith, those new to the faith, and those who feel they need a good “jump start” to their spiritual life. ALZHEIMER’S SUPPORT GROUP will meet the first Thursday of each month at 4 p.m. in Laird Memorial Hospital Conference Room. The group is for caregivers and families caring for someone with Alzheimer’s Disease.

THE NEW LONDON MUSEUM will now be opening the Tea Room on Saturdays, for salads & sandwiches from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Regular hours for the museum are 9-4 Monday through Friday, Saturday 10-3, and the Tea Room is open Monday-Friday from 10-3.
