ALTA HARBER

Services for Alta Jones Harber were 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005 at Knowles Chapel of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Besser officiating. Mrs. Harber died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005 in Kilgore.

She was born Aug. 7, 1917 in Trent, to Carlos and Grace Robinson. She was a graduate of Post High School. In 1944 she established her first beauty shop in Colorado City. Before her retirement, she owned and operated a beauty shop in Midland. She resided in Fort Worth 35 years before moving to Kilgore in 2001.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Herbert Edward Jones and William H. Harber.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Wilbur Yates of Kilgore; son, Herbert R. and Marsha Jones of Houston; a sister, Mary Frances Peddy of Galena Park; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
