Christian Women’s Fellowship met Oct. 17 Christian Women's Fellowship met Oct. 17 at 6:30 pm in the church's family room. Hostesses were Geraldine Cox and Ethel Soule'. Flowers for the serving table were furnished by Lorene Johnson. Refreshments were served prior to the meeting. The meeting was called to order by Co-President Cathy Fothergill. The CWF prayer was given and each member quoted a favorite Bible verse. The minutes from the last meeting were read by the secretary, Carolyn Kennedy, and approved as read. The treasurer, Peggy Bowne, reported disbursements for our annual school supplies to the various schools, Carroll Bolton and to the Church Finance Council. Ellen Watson invited everyone to come to the Willows service on Sunday afternoon and enjoy the piano music provided by Norman Chapman. Reports were made regarding our families and friends who have had prayer requests and names were drawn for our shut-ins. Geraldine Cox was praised for the continuous, loving care she has shared with all of us in the church, the luncheons and all that she does for the church and it was noted that we need to let the people know that they are appreciated in all that they do. New business was asked for and notes were read from various schools thanking CWF for their continuous support in distributing money for school supplies to help students. Wilma Cooke reminded everyone of the Kilgore Church Women's luncheon to be held on the fourth Friday of the month and this month would be hosted at the Presbyterian Church women. It was noted that our Church would host the January luncheon. There being no further business, the meeting was turned over to Louise Harrison who brought us a program on Esther and continues our study of "Women of the Bible". Ms. Harrison took the information she gathered from the Bible and added to it such information she gathered from reading about the customs and times and staged them as if she were Esther, telling her own story about her life and becoming queen and ended with the group sharing in reading the prayer of Esther. The meeting was adjourned with the reading of the Fellowship Benediction. Attending were Geraldine Cox, Ethel Soule', Wilma Cooke, Bea Jones, Louise Harrison, Joan StillSmith, Cathy Fothergill, Marada. Early, Ellen Watson, Laura Lea Blanks, Carolyn Kennedy, Carolyn Dunn, Bea Lawler, Nan Mitchell, Peggy Bowne, and Joan Streeter.
