 Ausie J. and Dorothy M. Stalcup of Liberty City celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 13 at 11 a.m. with a luncheon at Johnny Cace’s Restaurant in Longview. The event was hosted by their children, Randy Stalcup and Karen Florence, both of Liberty City. The couple’s grandchildren are Preston Florence and Brandon Florence. The Stalcup’s were married Aug. 13, 1955 in First Church of the Nazarene in Tyler. He is retired from Shell Oil Co. and she has been employed by Citizens State Bank, Liberty City State Bank and Kilgore Shell Employees Federal Credit Union. The couple flew to Honolulu today to board a Norwegian cruise ship to tour the Hawaiian islands.
  Bill and Vernell (Nell) Allen were married Aug. 16, 1955 at First Assembly of God Church in Kilgore by Rev. Bigham. The couple will be honored with a reception from 2 to 5 p.m. Aug. 20 in Liberty City. He graduated from Kilgore High School and worked at Texas Eastman for 40 years. He also served as a greagg county reserve deputy from 1972 to 1990. She graduated from Sabine High School an worked at Longhorn Drug before working at Gibson’s and Piggly Wiggly for numerous years. They enjoy goiing to their lakehouse in Oklahoma and spending time with their nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The couple have four chilren, sonja and Paul Everett, Gary and Donna Allen, Kelly and Jessica Allen, all of Longview, and Dee Ann and Joe Brown of Kilgore.
