Joymakers of Forest Home Baptist Church met August 9

Joymakers of Forest Home Baptist Church met at 6 p.m. Aug. 9 in the Richardson Building for a covered-dish supper. Anna Bess Hedrick’s small pecan pies were the best dish.

Dwight Dorminy with J.C. Bearden gave the invocation.

Sue Clements and Neola Leach decorated the tables with a Hawaiian theme. The multi-colored table clothes had lighted lanterns surrouned by a lei ansmall umbrellas, a lighted plam tree 2was near the stage where three hula dancers performed. The trio was James Keith, Travis Fried and Carnell Waller.

“Happy Birthday” was sun to Ruth Johnson, Laverne Mercer, Morris Hollowell, Eloise Duncan and Betty Bearden.

Johnny and Sue Clements celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary.

Hazel Jones thoroughly enjoyed talking to a parrot. Dwight Dorminy kept misplacing his plate of food.

Sue Clements did a great job singing “Calvary is the Reason Why.”

The next meeting will be 6 p.m. Sept. 13 in the Richardson Building.

Those attending were: Neola Leach, Banona Watson, Johnny and Sue Clements, J.C. and Betty Bearden, Billie Sue Bonds, Willard and Kim Gore, Travis and Betty Crews, Hazel Jones, Jewel Matlock, Dwight Dorminy, Bill and Glenda Ward, Ertis Murphy, Rue Taylor, Don and Betty Bonds, Ruth Johnson, Lavell Jenkins, Betty Ware, Betty Morris, Howard and Helen Alexander, Valt and Lou Brasher and Lee Ware.

Other members attending were: Bill and Barbara Bass, Anna Bess Hedrick, Lou Hanks, Carnell and Ann Waller, Cyndy Nowlin, James Holder, Travis and LaWana Fried, Wanda Fowler, Harold and Wanda Pierce, Martha Page, Gertie Lacy, Morris and Debbie Hollowell, Betty Lee, Lee Ann Warren, James and Iwana Keith, Talmadge and Laverne Mercer and Herman and Eloise Duncan.

One new member was Louise McKinney. Special guests were Jo Pickett and Jimmie Faye Myers.

While holding hands, the group sang “Blest Be the Tie” and were dismissed.
