Veterans erect derrick in Harris st. park

News Herald Photo by Lester Murray A 30 foot derrick donated by EOG Resources was erected at Harris St. Park on Friday by Lufkin Services for the Kilgore Veteran’s Monument Organization. Kip Stansell of Lufkin Services coordinated the event with Lufkin donating time, equipment and crew for putting up the derrick. John Edney, head of the veteran’s organization got the project started wtih Rick Huey of Lufkin Automation. The derrick will be painted by Charles Miller. (see story on page 3A)
