Joymakers of Forest Home gathered July 12

The Joymakers of Forest Home gathered and held meeting July 12, 2005 at 6 p.m. in the Richardson building.

There they enjoyed a variety of refreshments such as sandwhiches, chips & dips, and deserts. A favorite was Billie Sue Bond’s homemade ice cream.

Presiding over the meeting was Doris Snow while invocation was led by Willard Gore. Member were reminded of the prayer list. “Happy Birthday” was sung to Neola Leach, Talmadge Mercer, Ann Waller, Helen Alexander, as well as Don Bonds who was presented with a birthday cake.

Ruth johnson and Rue Taylor has decorated the tables with red, white, and blue tablecloths. Placed on the tables were patriotic bears, dolls, ribbon, candy, Uncle Smas, and Statues of Liberty.

Sue Clements introduced the Forest Home Baptist Church Mixed Quartet. Members Roger Ralson, Regina Ward, Babs Webb, and Dwight Dorminy were accompanied by James Holder on the piano. The group sang eight old gospel songs and led the entire audience in singing “God Bless American.” Mr. Holder played “On the Jerico Road” for Talmadge Mercer. Even Betty Lee and a bear did some singing.

Members present were: Bill and Glenda Ward, Jo Poteet, Dorothy Scroggins, Banona Watson, Neola Leach, Travis and Betty Crews, Howard and Helen Alexander, Art and Doris Snow, Dwight and Beverly Dorminy, Don and Betty Bonds, J.C. and Betty Bearden, Betty Ware, Carnell and Ann Waller, Ertis Murphy, and Ruth Johnson.

Also attending were: Johnny and Sue Clements, Lavelle Jenkins, Rue Taylor, Willard and Kim Gore, Walt and lou Brasher, Billie Sue Bonds, James and Iwana Keith, Lou Hanks, James and Babs Webb, Lee Ware, Martha Page, Gertie Lacy, Travis and LaWana Fried, Herman and Eloise Duncan, Betty Lee, Wanda Fowler, Talmadge and Laverne Mercer, James Holder, and Jim McWilliams.

Special guests were Lee Ann Warren, Virginia Gillis, Roger Ralson, Joe, Regina, Taylor, and Trent Ward, Olen and Vernell holder.

In dismissing, Talmadge Mercer lead the Joymakers in singing, “Blest Be the Tie.”
